The most effective thing I noticed was that this mayonnaise recipe takes very little time to execute. You can prepare this mayonnaise using a well-working canister blender in just 2 to 3 minutes.

Where most recipes suggest adding seasoning and oil before blending egg yolk and mustard, this one suggests adding the seasoning later. It’s quite effective, as it prevents the yolk from losing its flavor. Also, adding oil slowly while continuing to whisk the mixture is another effective procedure to follow.

Another reason for the recipe getting famous can be the marketing policy and the Cookalong program, which were quite famous. But you can’t deny the usability and simplicity of the recipe, which make it stand out.

  1. 3 Large Eggs (Only Yolks)
  2. 1 Tablespoon English Dijon Mustard Paste
  3. 2 Cups Groundnut Oil
  4. A Pinch of Salt
  5. 1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  6. 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lime Juice
  7. ½ Tablespoon Sweet Vinegar
  8. 2 Teaspoons White Wine Vinegar
  9. 2 Tablespoons Water


Step 1: Whisk Egg Yolks and Mustard

Pour unbeaten 3 large egg yolks into the blending jar of a canister blender. Add 1 tablespoon of English Dijon mustard paste. It will work as an emulsifier. Some recipes suggest using egg white along with egg yolks. But in this recipe, I only use egg yolks.

Turn on the blender and whisk egg yolks with mustard for 15 to 20 seconds. You will find a liquid texture in the mixture. 

Step 2: Add Groundnut Oil Slowly

Now we need to add oil to get the thickened mayonnaise. For this, add 2 tablespoons of groundnut oil first. Whisk and blend again. You will find that the liquid is now thicker. Again, add ½ cup of groundnut oil and do the same. Continue the process until it forms the actual paste texture of creamy mayonnaise. Also, while adding oil, whisk continuously. 

I have suggested adding 2 cups of oil in total. But if you think it needs more oil to paste, add more oil. Also, you can use olive oil instead of groundnut oil. It may make the mayonnaise healthier.

Step 3: Add Seasoning and Liquids

Now it’s time to complete the process of making white mayonnaise. Add a pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper, 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of water, ½ tablespoon of sweet vinegar, and 2 teaspoons of white wine vinegar or white balsamic.

Whisk the complete mixture for 20 seconds. If you are using a canister blender, you may need less time. Finally, you will get the nice, creamy, flavorful mayonnaise ready for use.

Step 4: Enjoy Gordon Ramsay Mayonnaise with Different Dishes
